Teaching the History of the Present

For a special issue of Modern Intellectual History, edited by Daniel Steinmetz-Jenkins, I have a piece co-written with my colleague Jennifer Ratner-Rosenhagen, about teaching the history of the present. Both of us reflect on what the perils and pitfalls of this, while arguing that it can be a surprisingly effective way to teach historical methods and thinking.
