As we did a year ago during his campaign, Carlos Bravo Regidor and I tried to cut through the highly polarized conversation around Andrés Manuel López Obrador to get to a balanced description of what is going on. (As with last time, we have written for Dissent; this time we have also written with Humberto Beck.) The result is a piece that tries to get to the core of how AMLO has maintained his popularity in his first year – while discussing what he both is and is not doing.
