Aristocracy and accountability

In the Chronicle of Higher Education, I spoke to Lindsay Ellis about memories of encountering the American aristocracy for the first time in college, and how the Kavanaugh hearings are bringing those memories back. The focus of the article is rightly on far worse experiences than my own–namely, those of sexual assault–but there’s a broader crisis of elite accountability, and the Kavanaugh hearings feel like a symptom of that.
